Malicious functions:
To bypass firewall, removes or modifies the following registry keys:
- [<HKLM>\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\StandardProfile\AuthorizedApplications\List] '%APPDATA%\system.exe' = '%APPDATA%\system.exe:*:Enabled:system.exe'
Creates and executes the following:
- '%APPDATA%\system.exe'
Executes the following:
- '<SYSTEM32>\netsh.exe' firewall add allowedprogram "%APPDATA%\system.exe" "system.exe" ENABLE
Modifies file system :
Creates the following files:
- %APPDATA%\system.exe
Network activity:
Connects to:
- 'sy#####pdate.sytes.net':1985
UDP:
- DNS ASK sy#####pdate.sytes.net
Miscellaneous:
Searches for the following windows:
- ClassName: 'Shell_TrayWnd' WindowName: '(null)'
- ClassName: 'Indicator' WindowName: '(null)'
